Systems Engineer – Platform Engineer (VT)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field. 0–3 years of IT or systems administration experience (internship, co-op, or full-time). Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux environments. Basic knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash). Exposure to virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eagerness to learn. U.S. Citizenship required (Public Trust eligibility).

Assist in setup, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise systems and servers (Windows & Linux). Support deployment and monitoring of applications and infrastructure components in hybrid environments. Participate in troubleshooting and performance-tuning efforts. Contribute to automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Learn and assist in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). Document system configurations, runbooks, and operational processes. Collaborate with senior engineers to implement platform improvements.
