Systems Engineer – Infrastructure Deployment (Senior) (VT)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline 10+ years of systems engineering experience in enterprise or federal environments Strong background in virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) Strong background in enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS) Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform) Experience performing infrastructure deployments, migrations, and performance testing Familiarity with Windows and Linux server administration, including patching and monitoring U.S. Citizenship required (Public Trust eligibility)

Design, deploy, and integrate compute and storage infrastructures Lead implementation of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS) Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Ansible, Terraform, and Python Conduct performance testing, system tuning, and capacity planning Support migration and deployment activities Collaborate with security and DevSecOps teams to embed controls aligned with NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP frameworks Document architectures, configurations, and standard operating procedures Troubleshoot complex issues across compute, storage, and network layers
