Requirements:
Operational experience at an insurance carrier or MGA, or experience managing capacity relationships and operations at a reinsurance broker. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Self-directed and self-motivated; excellent communicator and collaborator. Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or related discipline). 2+ years of experience in underwriting, quantitative analysis, or risk modeling in the insurance industry. Knowledge of underwriting, pricing, reserving, or risk management processes in insurance. Expertise in data manipulation and analysis using SQL and Python, or similar analytical tools. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker). Experience with development and monitoring of insurance models. Experience with dashboard creation for operational metrics tracking. Intered to learn how to work on cybersecurity datasets using big data technologies (Snowflake, AWS Athena). Capable of working with remote teams.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations with insurance and reinsurance carrier partners. Ensure seamless communication and data sharing with external carrier partners. Manage annual audits with carrier partners and implement recommendations. Review contract wording with carrier partners and ensure compliance. Direct internal product development needs to support carrier partners. Collaborate and communicate carrier-driven needs with cross-functional teams. Analyze diverse datasets including claims, risk signals, and underwriting databases. Develop and refine statistical and machine learning models for cybersecurity risk assessment. Create reports on underwriting efficiency metrics and risk selection quality. Apply statistical techniques to evaluate and improve cyber risk assessment methodology. Provide analytical support for underwriting strategies. Identify and implement opportunities to automate underwriting workflows. Lead cross-functional initiatives in area of expertise. Serve as a technical lead and mentor within the underwriting intelligence team.
