Requirements:
- 5 plus years of experience in financial accounting, ideally in a digital or high growth environment
- Strong technical knowledge of German GAAP and tax law, with additional experience in IFRS or US GAAP seen as a plus
- Confident working with DATEV and modern AP and AR tools such as Spendesk, plus experience with ERP systems like NetSuite
- Advanced Excel user with the ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate financial data clearly
- Hands-on experience leveraging AI and automation tools to streamline accounting workflows
- A solid understanding of compliance, internal control frameworks, and structured accounting processes
- Proactive mindset with a passion for optimizing workflows and improving operational efficiency
- Analytical thinker with excellent problem solving skills, precision, and attention to detail
- Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent certified training, with experience in accounting or audit firms as a strong advantage
- Fluent in English and German
Responsibilities:
- Own the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with German GAAP and other applicable standards
- Ensure accurate and timely financial records across all markets, including invoice processing and account reconciliation
- Prepare and coordinate tax filings while working closely with external tax advisors and auditors
- Strengthen and refine internal controls to ensure compliance, scalability, and operational stability
- Identify process gaps and collaborate with cross functional teams to solve issues and improve workflows
- Optimize and leverage accounting tools such as DATEV and Spendesk to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Manage relationships with banks and financial partners to ensure smooth daily operations
- Actively shape and steer a robust financial infrastructure that enables Yazio's growth as a digital first, international company
