Staff Software Engineer, Lake

Proven track record of writing clean, maintainable, and testable code (Node.js/TypeScript). Extensive experience in complex development environments, especially in large-scale highly available distributed systems and SaaS platforms. Deep expertise in developing resilient and scalable backend services on cloud providers, preferably AWS. Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, Linux, and distributed systems. Experience using assertion frameworks and tools like Mocha, Cypress, Jest. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a track record of learning quickly. Dedication to elegant and high-quality software. Experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers. Passion for making engineers successful and finding fulfillment through the success of others. Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as BitBucket, Jenkins, CircleCI. Broad range of experience implementing various cloud design patterns. Experience with serverless / lambda-based implementations. Willingness to speak your mind and share ideas. Comfort working remotely.

Drive the technical direction and architecture of Cribl Lake and Lakehouse. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver product roadmaps. Mentor and guide junior engineers. Identify and mitigate technical risks and debt. Contribute to the development of best practices and engineering standards. Optimize and extend the capabilities of Cribl Lake and Lakehouse. This position will require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties.
