Principal/Lead Software Engineer

7+ years of progressive experience, ideally with multiple tech stacks. Experience architecting systems and mentoring other engineers. Full-stack engineering skills. Awareness of UI/UX importance. Understanding of security in web environments. Comfort switching contexts in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, API Design, and Amazon Web Services (EC2, Route 53, S3, RDS) is preferred but not required. PostgreSQL Database Administration, Circle CI/CD, Testing (unit/integration/E2E), UX/UI Design, and AI Development + Tooling are nice to have.

Serve as the technical lead for a small team of engineers. Mentor and grow the team through coaching, code reviews, and hands-on guidance. Collaborate with the VP of Engineering on strategic direction. Oversee system architecture decisions for scalability, reliability, and security. Contribute to full-stack development. Ensure implementation of best practices, coding standards, and robust testing. Work cross-functionally with product, QA, and other stakeholders. Coordinate daily work with remote team members. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly. Identify and address performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities. Advocate for and implement improvements to engineering practices. Support and expand automated operations and internal tools.
