Medical Biller (Client)

High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional medical billing and coding certification preferred. Minimum of one year of experience in medical billing. Proficient in medical terminology, billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner), and insurance claim processing procedures. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with patients, providers, and insurance representatives. Demonstrated ability to analyze billing issues and identify solutions. Ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments.

Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid. Generate and send invoices to patients and follow up on outstanding balances. Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility. Assign medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) to diagnoses and procedures. Record and reconcile payments received from insurance companies and patients. Investigate and appeal claim denials and rejections. Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment options. Maintain accurate records of billing activities. Adhere to healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and billing compliance.
