Requirements:
  • JD degree from an accredited US law school, admission to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state where the candidate is located.
  • 6-8 years experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements such as licenses, supply, and services agreements.
  • Experience analyzing significant or unique contract requirements to ensure compliance with corporate policies, with appropriate managerial approval.
  • Demonstrated success with reviewing and negotiating terms with international governments.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to manage multiple demands, priorities, and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse individuals at all levels of an organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal support across all aspects of Planet’s business, with a focus on our constellation services offerings, as well as our data licensing.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in supply-side manufacturing agreements, and platform or software as a service agreements.
  • Form trusted partnership with the Space Systems Business Development team and Global Commercial sales team.
  • Serve as key negotiator for a wide variety of commercial agreements, such as data as a service agreements, hardware purchase and development, inbound services, supply chain, joint development and collaboration and other commercial transactional agreements worldwide.
  • Responsible for providing agreement risk assessments and recommendations to Associate General Counsel for approval.
  • Support improvements to Planet’s legal department by streamlining processes, forms, and operations.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Other project support as required.
