Requirements:

• Previous experience in a technical leadership role or people management.
• Experience mentoring engineers and ideally previous management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both engineering and cross-functional contexts.
• Experience in mentorship/coaching, career development, and resolving conflicts.
• Broad full-stack experience including technologies like React, Rails, Java, and/or Go.
• Deep experience in architecting web services and solving complex problems.
• A proven track record of quick onboarding and driving technical and cultural improvements.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in remote environments with competing priorities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team, collaborating with product and CTO to identify opportunities and set direction.
• Manage up to four engineers, facilitating their growth through feedback and development.
• Enhance engineering culture to be agile, efficient, and collaborative.
• Assist in selecting solutions for product challenges, balancing performance and reliability.
• Guide new technology exploration, particularly in applying machine learning to solar.
• Write high-quality code, primarily on the backend, and participate in code and design reviews.
• Understand solar project development and suggest product features and infrastructure improvements.
