How We Work

Engineering at Recidiviz

Engineers at Recidiviz tackle the challenge of integrating fragmented criminal justice data from various silos like prisons, parole boards, and probation offices. You will build and maintain an open-source platform that standardizes and links this data. This platform powers tools and real-time dashboards for agencies, helping them diagnose systemic issues and monitor policy impacts. The team uses an Agile methodology, incorporating cross-functional collaboration with product management, security, and state engagement. They prioritize security with robust measures like Google Cloud Platform hosting, separate environments for production and development, and encryption in transit. Recidiviz leverages technologies such as Google Cloud, BigQuery, Looker, Jupyter notebooks, Python, and Pandas.
