Engineering at Submittable

Engineers at Submittable craft scalable, reliable, and intuitive solutions that power their grants management platform. You will engage in full-stack development, enhancing PHP-based backend features and APIs to support product growth and platform reliability. A key challenge involves modernizing legacy PHP codebases, refactoring them towards contemporary patterns and frameworks to improve maintainability and performance. The team values clarity, iteration, and disciplined engineering practices, operating in globally distributed, cross-functional environments. You will work with containerized environments like Docker and Kubernetes, and implement automated build, test, and deployment workflows (CI/CD). The goal is to build well-tested systems across the stack, making thoughtful tradeoffs between speed, scale, and simplicity.
