- At least 7 years of post-JD legal experience
Requirements
- Hold a JD from an accredited law school.
- Maintain active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
- Have at least 7 years of post-JD legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Have substantial experience negotiating data licensing, data acquisition, or data-sharing agreements.
- Have deep familiarity with FCRA, GLBA, and state consumer privacy laws.
- Demonstrate experience negotiating complex commercial data transactions, including data rights, intellectual property, and liability allocation for sensitive or regulated data.
- Bring hands-on experience using and implementing AI tools in legal workflows.
- Manage high contract volumes independently and prioritize competing deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Lead negotiations and draft agreements with data providers, credit bureaus, government and public-record sources, alternative-data vendors, and third-party service providers.
- Negotiate integration, reseller, and technology-partner terms for products and services integrated into RiskOS.
- Structure terms for permitted use, downstream usage rights, data quality, service levels, and audit rights.
- Advise on FCRA, GLBA, state consumer privacy laws, GDPR, and other data-sourcing and data-use regulations.
- Translate business and technical data and integration requirements into enforceable contract terms.
- Assess and allocate risk related to data ownership, intellectual property, liability, termination, and data return or destruction.
- Develop AI-supported mechanisms to track data-source usage rights, restrictions, and contractual limitations.
- Develop agentic AI workflows, contract playbooks, templates, and negotiation guidelines.
- Train and advise Sales, Product, and Data Acquisition teams on data rights and permissible use.
- Support cross-border data sourcing and transfer matters and mentor junior legal team members.
