Requirements
- Bring 12+ years of industry experience.
- Have a proven track record leading large-scale data initiatives across multiple departments or business units.
- Demonstrate expertise designing and evolving complex data ecosystems in high-volume environments.
- Have experience influencing product and business strategy using data integrity.
- Bring deep expertise in the Java, Scala, and Spark ecosystem.
- Have strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL query authoring.
- Be able to evaluate and introduce proven industry approaches and new technologies.
- Knowledge of S3 and Iceberg is preferred.
- Have the ability to drive organization-wide cultural shifts in data ownership and quality.
Responsibilities
- Define the multi-year vision for data governance and data quality.
- Advise executive leadership on data governance and integrate compliance and stewardship into the data product lifecycle.
- Lead the design of data architectures for batch, real-time, and AI-driven requirements.
- Define best practices, tooling, and culture that enable data organizations to maintain high-quality data autonomously.
- Lead cross-functional task forces with Infosec, Legal, and Privacy to translate regulatory requirements into engineering requirements.
- Coach senior and staff engineers on data best practices.
