Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, communications, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of fundraising and/or gift-planning experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building donor relationships and securing legacy or planned gifts.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or another customer relationship management program.
  • Be an actively practicing Christian, participate in a local Christian community, and demonstrate commitment to Christ and World Renew’s ministry.
  • Be able to articulate a biblical worldview and explain how World Renew embodies it in its mission.
  • Knowledge of the Reformed faith and tradition is recommended; working knowledge of the Christian Reformed Church is an asset.
  • Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Be self-directed and able to prioritize in a multi-task environment.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills, clear verbal and written expression, and sensitive listening.
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality of donor information.
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement targeted cultivation strategies to maintain and increase legacy and planned gifts.
  • Manage an assigned donor portfolio and provide consistent communication and stewardship.
  • Engage legacy giving society members in the United States through personalized outreach.
  • Segment donors by interests and communication preferences and provide tailored reports, newsletters, and ministry updates.
  • Research, identify, and qualify donors for legacy and planned-gift opportunities.
  • Promote the Joseph Stewards program through campaigns, newsletters, donor stories, events, and webinars.
  • Develop educational content about legacy giving, including brochures, web pages, and FAQs.
  • Coordinate with estate-planning professionals, family members, attorneys, and other stakeholders on planned and estate gifts.
  • Establish financial goals and strategic plans with the team and supervisor, and record donor information in the CRM.
