Requirements
- Have prior experience as a renewals, customer success, or sales professional, with exposure to renewal motions.
- Have experience managing or mentoring early-career to mid-level individual contributors, or clear readiness for first-line people management.
- Understand renewals processes, pricing, and contract fundamentals at GitLab or a comparable SaaS company.
- Be able to translate functional plans and strategy into clear, tactical team processes.
- Use sound judgment for routine operational decisions and escalate issues beyond the team's scope.
- Demonstrate prioritization skills and help others balance urgent and important work.
- Demonstrate people-leadership skills, including goal-setting, accountability, feedback, and coaching.
- Show care for team members' growth and deliver candid, real-time feedback productively.
- Align with GitLab's Values and Operating Principles and be able to coach others toward a high-performance culture.
- Have excellent written, verbal, and remote presentation communication skills.
- Be comfortable working in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
- Be able to travel for events such as trainings, team offsites, and customer meetings.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day work of a team of Renewals Managers and Associates.
- Implement functional renewals plans and strategy in tactical processes for a book of business.
- Maintain accurate visibility into team renewals performance in the CRM or renewals system for forecasting and reporting.
- Forecast renewals for the segment with Field Sales Leadership and the Geo Director, including churn and growth projections.
- Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance to advance renewals and expansion opportunities.
- Coach team members on pricing, contract terms, whitespace, and expansion motions.
- Set goals and performance expectations, monitor progress, and drive accountability.
- Remove blockers and streamline day-to-day renewals workflows.
- Provide feedback and coaching, address engagement and retention needs, and advise team members on career growth.
