Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior engineering role with increasing responsibility.
- Proficiency with SQL, Postgres, Java, Go (Golang), and/or Node.js.
- A solid grasp of data structures and algorithms and their application in data-intensive applications.
- Experience building applications that process high-velocity or high-volume data.
- Ability to mentor a team and lead without direction.
- Experience acting in a tech lead capacity for a small team is preferred.
- Experience with Terraform, Pulumi, Helm, or GitHub Actions is preferred.
- Experience with SQL data analysis using Snowflake or BigQuery, and some familiarity with data pipelines, is preferred.
- Experience with message-based, asynchronous processing is preferred.
- Production experience with JavaScript and SPA technology such as Vue or React is preferred.
- Production public cloud experience is preferred; Azure is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions.
- Implement system and data monitors to ensure business-process correctness.
- Contribute to team-wide business and technology objectives.
- Lead cross-functional projects in an agile environment and participate in planning.
- Scope, decompose, and organize projects for multiple teammates; delegate tasks and coordinate delivery.
- Estimate project timelines with reasonable accuracy.
- Support team development practices, including idiomatic syntax, design patterns, and testing and quality practices.
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for large distributed software applications.
- Integrate with existing REST APIs, author new APIs, and expose data to the frontend.
