Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or a recognized local university degree in Accounting or Public Accountancy that qualifies you for the relevant professional accounting credential; a general business or finance degree alone is not sufficient.
- Hold a current professional public-accounting certification, license, or registration in good standing; provide the credential, issuing authority, jurisdiction, and registration or license number for verification.
- Candidates based in Brazil or other LATAM countries must hold the applicable recognized local public-accounting credential, subject to verification.
- Have 5–7 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or in a comparable accounting leadership role.
- Have hands-on accounting experience supporting U.S.-based clients or businesses.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, applicable tax requirements, and financial reporting standards.
- Have excellent spoken and written English and the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to clients.
- Have advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Hubstaff.
- Be able to work according to California local time, including changes between Pacific Standard Time and Pacific Daylight Time.
- Be able to work remotely from a suitable Latin American location with reliable connectivity and appropriate confidentiality, security, and data-protection arrangements.
- Be willing to use Hubstaff for mandatory engagement time tracking and comply with applicable tracking requirements.
- Cost accounting experience, an active U.S. CPA license, CMA certification, and experience with Xero, Bill.com, NetSuite, Sage, or similar platforms are advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle across Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, and Record to Report.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for U.S.-based clients and manage inquiries, meetings, plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Assign team workloads, monitor progress, facilitate reviews, and ensure accurate and timely delivery.
- Review and approve accounting work, mentor junior and intermediate accountants, and support onboarding and training.
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment recording, collections follow-up, and aging reviews.
- Oversee bank reconciliations, accounts payable controls, and employee and contractor payment records.
- Support month-end and financial statement close, including reconciliations, accruals, consolidations, budgets, and forecasts.
- Design accounting policies, SOPs, and process improvements; identify automation and approved AI opportunities while validating outputs and protecting confidential information.
