Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of 4+ engineers in an agile, remote environment.
  • Recent experience writing production code and designing or evolving production systems.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM-powered or agentic features in production.
  • Proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, and React.
  • Experience designing and building APIs.
  • Familiarity with observability and APM tools such as New Relic, Datadog, or Sentry.
  • Knowledge of application security best practices and SDLC integration.
  • Proven experience modernizing legacy systems and paying down technical debt.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaborative abilities in a distributed, asynchronous environment.

Responsibilities

  • Spend 20–30% of time on hands-on engineering, including writing production code, performing code reviews, and signing off on technical designs.
  • Design and deliver agentic workflows for core platform capabilities.
  • Set multi-quarter technical direction in partnership with AI/ML and product teams.
  • Modernize legacy services, consolidate data models, and improve transactional integrity.
  • Establish effective planning, prioritization, and design review practices.
  • Own production support for core domains, including triage, escalation management, and root-cause resolution.
  • Define service level objectives and performance dashboards to ensure reliability and observability.
  • Coach engineers on technical practices, including AI-assisted development.
