Requirements
- Minimum of five years of healthcare, hospital, billing, and collections experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations, including authorizations, physician billing, claims management, and collections.
- Experience managing Medicaid billing processes for primary and secondary reimbursement.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
- Strong knowledge of billing software, EHR systems, spreadsheet tools, and reporting platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Proven leadership skills with experience coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review financial data, identify trends, and create operational forecasts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, ethical practices, and HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership for the full revenue cycle lifecycle, including authorizations, billing operations, accounts receivable, collections, and payment processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce days in accounts receivable, improve cash flow, and maximize collection performance.
- Design and optimize authorization workflows to prevent revenue leakage and support uninterrupted patient care.
- Partner with clinical, finance, and compliance teams to align operational processes with payer requirements and organizational objectives.
- Establish executive-level revenue cycle KPIs, including clean claim rates, first-pass resolution, denial trends, and collection performance metrics.
- Lead denial prevention strategies, appeals processes, and recovery initiatives to protect organizational revenue.
- Drive automation initiatives, system enhancements, and technology improvements across revenue cycle operations.
- Mentor, develop, and lead billing and authorization teams while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
