Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, quantitative, or transportation-related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience working with structured datasets or technical data specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally at least once a year.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid passport.
- Experience with GTFS and GTFS Realtime (preferred).
- Experience contributing to open-source communities or standards development (preferred).
- Experience writing or maintaining technical documentation (preferred).
- Experience using SQL and Python for data analysis and validation (preferred).
- Experience using AI-assisted tools for technical workflows (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Engage with the global transit community to gather feedback, facilitate technical discussions, and support the evolution of GTFS.
- Develop and maintain GTFS proposal, documentation, and implementation guidance to support consistent implementation and improve data quality.
- Provide technical support to the community through public channels such as GitHub.
- Conduct research and gather community insights to identify barriers to GTFS adoption and opportunities to improve data quality.
- Represent MobilityData at conferences, workshops, webinars, and industry events.
- Build relationships with transit agencies, technology providers, and stakeholders to support global GTFS adoption.
- Lead internal knowledge-sharing efforts and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
