Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Proficiency in languages such as Python or Kotlin.
- Extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems.
- Experience with technologies including AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
- 2+ years of experience working in search or related recommendation engines.
- Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating existing functionality.
- Experience developing consumer experiences using UI frameworks like React.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy for your team on a year-long time scale and align it with business-impacting projects.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to ensure technical sustainability and manage risks.
- Act as a force-multiplier through the definition and advocacy of technical solutions and operational processes.
- Own team operations and availability by managing monitoring, triage, playbooks, and on-call efforts.
- Foster a culture of quality by setting design and code review standards.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
