Requirements
- 5+ years building production backend systems.
- Deep comfort with Python, relational stores, and cloud infrastructure (GCP/Kubernetes).
- Experience building LLM-powered systems such as agent loops, tool-calling, RAG, or eval infrastructure.
- Ability to design for operability including compliance, tracing, and reliability.
- Ability to own a technical domain, propose directions via design docs, and execute shipping.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Nice to have: experience with platform/product team relationships, SSE/streaming systems, or compliance-adjacent engineering.
Responsibilities
- Manage core runtime surfaces of syndi-api including the agent loop, tool execution, memory, and context management.
- Develop and grow the eval system to support offline gates and online production detectors.
- Ensure production reliability through observability, tracing, and incident response.
- Review product teams' tool wrappers and evolve API contracts and drift-detection.
- Design and implement compliance and legal requirements for the AI platform.
