Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data modeling, or similar roles.
  • Expert-level SQL skills with strong query optimization and performance tuning abilities.
  • Extensive experience with dbt (data build tool) including testing and documentation.
  • Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation and automation.
  • Deep understanding of dimensional modeling (star schemas, one big table).
  • Working knowledge of Databricks (SQL Warehouses, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog).
  • Experience with AI/LLM coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD implementation for analytics code.
  • Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, Looker, or Mode.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate requirements into data models.
  • Understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, SOX).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust dimensional and relational data models for Product, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.
  • Build and maintain scalable dbt transformation pipelines ensuring high data quality, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Own the transformation and modeling of curated (Silver/Gold) datasets with clear traceability.
  • Partner with data engineering to build and maintain data pipelines and Delta Lake tables in Databricks.
  • Collaborate with data stakeholders to translate requirements into durable data products for experimentation and analytics.
  • Implement data quality tests, monitoring, SLAs, and alerting to ensure dataset reliability.
  • Enhance LLM development support by creating tools and agents to improve code generation and system maintenance.
  • Establish and evangelize analytics engineering best practices including version control, testing, and documentation.
