Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data modeling, or similar roles.
- Expert-level SQL skills with strong query optimization and performance tuning abilities.
- Extensive experience with dbt (data build tool) including testing and documentation.
- Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation and automation.
- Deep understanding of dimensional modeling (star schemas, one big table).
- Working knowledge of Databricks (SQL Warehouses, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog).
- Experience with AI/LLM coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD implementation for analytics code.
- Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, Looker, or Mode.
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate requirements into data models.
- Understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, SOX).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust dimensional and relational data models for Product, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.
- Build and maintain scalable dbt transformation pipelines ensuring high data quality, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Own the transformation and modeling of curated (Silver/Gold) datasets with clear traceability.
- Partner with data engineering to build and maintain data pipelines and Delta Lake tables in Databricks.
- Collaborate with data stakeholders to translate requirements into durable data products for experimentation and analytics.
- Implement data quality tests, monitoring, SLAs, and alerting to ensure dataset reliability.
- Enhance LLM development support by creating tools and agents to improve code generation and system maintenance.
- Establish and evangelize analytics engineering best practices including version control, testing, and documentation.
