How We Work

Life360 operates as a remote-first company, meaning you can expect a primary remote work environment. However, Life360 also maintains offices in San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Ft. Lauderdale. The company values transparency, communication, and inclusivity. You will join a team that is mission-driven and passionate, where feedback is direct but respectful. Employees report a positive environment and a comfortably fast pace, with many working 8 hours or less. Life360 also hosts company offsites twice a year for in-person connection.

Engineering at Life360

Life360 engineers solve complex problems related to real-time geospatial analytics and large-scale data processing. The platform processes billions of events daily, requiring robust infrastructure for low-latency updates and high-throughput reads. You will work with technologies like Apache Pinot and StarTree for real-time analytics, handling massive streaming data and enabling sub-second geospatial lookups for over 100 million monthly active users. The team is embracing AI-native engineering workflows, integrating AI at every stage of product design, build, and shipment. This includes using AI tools for ideation, coding, testing, and iteration, driving faster delivery and deeper insights. There is a strong focus on data accessibility, utilizing platforms like Amplitude to provide insights across teams without requiring extensive SQL knowledge. Life360 has also made strides in optimizing mobile release cycles, moving from 6-week to 2-week cycles with automation, feature flagging, and extensive testing to improve quality.
