Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive software and/or AI/ML engineering experience.
- 1+ years of dedicated production experience in LLM-based application development.
- Demonstrated track record of shipping production AI systems.
- Hands-on production experience with RAG, including chunking, embedding models, vector stores, and retrieval/reranking.
- Working production experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or equivalent integration patterns.
- Practical experience with frontier model families such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, and Google Gemini.
- Strong proficiency in production Python.
- Expertise in modern software engineering fundamentals: Agile, Git, CI/CD, and containerization.
- Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS (S3, Redshift, Bedrock, IAM).
- Working knowledge of enterprise search services (e.g., OpenSearch, Elasticsearch) and hybrid retrieval patterns.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship AI systems, including end-to-end ownership of architecture, retrieval pipelines, evaluation, and deployment.
- Implement production-grade RAG systems on AWS (S3, Redshift, Bedrock) with robust chunking, embedding, and retrieval strategies.
- Build and maintain evaluation harnesses for AI systems, treating evaluation as a first-class engineering deliverable.
- Design and implement integrations between AI systems and enterprise systems using APIs, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and event-driven patterns.
- Maintain LLM security controls, including input/output guardrails, prompt injection defenses, and sensitive data redaction.
- Develop and deploy AI agents for use in regulated environments, ensuring human oversight and traceability.
- Establish modern engineering practices including CI/CD, version control, and environment separation.
- Author technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and validation deliverables.
