Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in financial planning, analysis, budget management, and fiscal operations.
  • At least 5 years of senior-level administrative, management, and leadership experience in a fast-paced organization.
  • Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, accounting principles, and resource allocation.
  • Demonstrated experience with capital planning, project oversight, and long-term financial strategy.
  • Experience negotiating contracts, agreements, vendor relationships, and strategic partnerships.
  • Knowledge of public-sector accounting practices, governmental financial management, GAAP, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to use financial and operational data to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience developing high-performing teams and building organizational capability.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to lead complex organizational change while maintaining mission alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sustainable financial strategies that support institutional goals, operational resilience, and long-term success.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, multi-year financial forecasting, accounting operations, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Oversee operating, grant, and capital budgets while ensuring financial resources are effectively aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, accounting standards, compliance processes, and risk management practices.
  • Monitor organizational performance against budgets and strategic plans, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and revenue growth.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership, board members, and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and oversee financial reports, projections, budgets, and presentations for leadership and governance bodies.
  • Manage treasury operations, audits, tax activities, insurance programs, and financial policies.
  • Oversee facilities planning, capital projects, infrastructure strategies, and financial management related to operational investments.
  • Build strong partnerships across academic, administrative, and community stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
