Requirements

  • 10–15+ years of experience leading compliance programs within healthcare, digital health, telehealth, pharmacy, health technology, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Proven success designing and scaling enterprise compliance programs across multi-state operations.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare and regulatory frameworks, including HIPAA/HITECH, privacy regulations, telehealth, pharmacy, and related compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience building, mentoring, and leading high-performing compliance teams.
  • Ability to influence executive stakeholders and collaborate effectively across legal, clinical, product, security, and operational functions.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong executive communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership and Boards.
  • Ability to balance business growth with effective risk management while making sound, data-informed decisions.
  • High ethical standards, sound judgment, operational rigor, and a collaborative leadership style.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments with the ability to build scalable processes from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale the enterprise compliance function, establishing the vision, organizational structure, budget, performance metrics, and long-term strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive framework of compliance policies, standards, procedures, and internal controls aligned with applicable healthcare, privacy, pharmacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and oversee continuous monitoring, internal audit programs, compliance reporting, issue management, and corrective action processes to strengthen organizational risk management.
  • Partner with product, engineering, legal, security, clinical, and commercial teams to integrate compliance into product development, market expansion, vendor onboarding, and operational initiatives.
  • Coordinate incident response activities alongside legal and security teams, including investigations, regulatory communications, breach management, and post-incident improvements.
  • Establish third-party compliance oversight programs, including due diligence, contractual standards, and ongoing monitoring of vendors, providers, pharmacies, and business partners.
  • Promote a strong culture of ethics and compliance by delivering role-specific training, managing reporting channels, and fostering transparent, non-retaliatory reporting practices.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory requirements, engage with regulatory and accreditation bodies, and provide strategic compliance updates and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.
