Requirements

- 3+ years managing and growing engineering teams.
- Proven experience delivering consumer-facing software.
- Track record of managing performance and driving execution through ambiguity.
- Technical judgment to guide architecture, quality, and reliability decisions.
- Experience leading significant technical initiatives end-to-end, including re-platforming.
- Familiarity with modern full-stack development, specifically declarative UI frameworks like React or React Native.
- Experience with backend-for-frontend development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead others through complex decisions and resolve tensions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a well-balanced team of engineers, setting expectations and developing individual career paths.
- Own the team's technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap to build customer trust and move business metrics.
- Empower the tech lead and engineers to maintain high design and quality standards through hands-on technical design guidance.
- Oversee the availability, reliability, and performance of consumer-critical systems, including on-call rotation and operational toil reduction.
- Drive shipping cadence by breaking large programs into sprint-sized milestones.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Analytics teams to lead cross-functional efforts.
- Drive hiring and onboarding to foster a culture of quality, transparency, and high performance.
