Requirements
- Master's or PhD in science or engineering with outstanding academic performance.
- Broad experience with applied math and numerical methods (e.g., matrix algebra, partial differential equations).
- Earth sciences or civil engineering background, preferably including contaminant transport modeling.
- Extensive C++ programming experience, ideally in scientific or engineering applications.
- Proven ability to design and implement practical numerical solutions to real-world problems.
- Effective written communication skills for documentation and team collaboration.
- Familiarity with commercial or open-source numerical libraries and frameworks.
- Experience developing and supporting Windows desktop applications (plus).
- Experience with data science tools such as MATLAB, R, or Tableau (plus).
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques to scientific or engineering software (plus).
Responsibilities
- Own numerical solutions and mathematical/computer science algorithms from theoretical design through C++ implementation.
- Propose and implement real-world improvements to numerical capabilities based on customer needs.
- Build GoldSim models for QA, verification, and example product shipping.
- Document theoretical foundations and implementation details of numerical methods.
- Partner with the founding engineer to formalize modeling and support methodology.
- Integrate new numerical capabilities into the platform in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Serve as a technical resource for customer support and QA on advanced modeling questions.
- Identify opportunities to modernize algorithmic infrastructure and incorporate machine learning approaches.
