Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building and scaling distributed systems, storage, or networking infrastructure.
- Proficiency in a low-level systems language, with Rust strongly preferred.
- Experience working independently in a high-trust, low-process environment.
- Ability to operate effectively in an async and fully remote setting.
- Comfort with ambiguity and end-to-end ownership.
- Passion for building simple, robust, and scalable systems.
- Familiarity with Python, Typescript, Go, or C++ is a plus.
- Experience designing efficient, high-performance, fault-tolerant data storage and retrieval systems is preferred.
- Experience operating production systems, including monitoring, alerting, and distributed debugging.
- Familiarity with git internals, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes), and database systems is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to xet-core, an open-source Rust project underpinning the Hugging Face Hub client.
- Design, build, and operate features for the Xet Storage backend.
- Solve challenges related to enormous-scale data storage and retrieval systems.
- Collaborate within a high-trust, low-process engineering team.
- Leverage AI tools to build and operate infrastructure at scale.
