Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in provider credentialing within a healthcare or behavioral health organization.
- 1+ years of experience leading credentialing committee meetings.
- Demonstrated experience supporting credentialing committee processes and provider file review.
- Working knowledge of NCQA credentialing standards and accreditation requirements.
- Experience with primary source verification.
- Proven experience mentoring or providing guidance to team members.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with credentialing software and provider data management systems.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Familiarity with delegated credentialing programs and payer requirements preferred.
- Experience supporting accreditation or regulatory audits preferred.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate scheduled, ad hoc, and appeal Credentialing Committee meetings.
- Review flagged provider credentialing and recredentialing files for completeness and readiness.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex provider credentialing cases.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to credentialing specialists and contractors.
- Document committee processes, maintain minutes, and ensure compliance with NCQA standards.
- Develop and maintain standardized committee workflows and checklists.
- Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to resolve file deficiencies.
- Track committee metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement.
