Requirements
- Strong experience with Go or a path to it.
- Deep experience building and operating production backend systems in a systems language like Rust, Java, or C++.
- Experience with TypeScript and React.
- Operational mindset with experience owning production services and managing on-call rotations.
- Systems thinking ability to reason about component interactions, data flow, and failure modes.
- Ability to work independently, design solutions, and iterate based on feedback.
- Familiarity with software development processes that take a user-centered approach.
- Experience using AI tools for engineering workflows.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Experience designing or operating multi-tenant SaaS systems at scale (bonus).
- Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic (bonus).
- Experience with Kubernetes in a production environment (bonus).
- Familiarity with k6, Playwright, or browser automation at scale (bonus).
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end across the stack from API and data model design in Go to user-facing workflows in TypeScript/React.
- Design and evolve systems including scheduling, probe lifecycle, and telemetry ingestion.
- Build cross-product and AI-assisted workflows connecting Synthetic Monitoring to the Grafana Cloud platform.
- Ensure the product is operable at enterprise scale with robust governance and organizational primitives.
- Break down complex, ambiguous problems into incremental deliverables.
- Ensure service quality through testing, observability, and documentation.
- Participate in the team's on-call rotation to maintain system reliability.
