Requirements
- Strong Go experience, or deep experience building/operating production backend systems in Rust, Java, or C++.
- Operational mindset with experience owning production services and managing on-call rotations.
- Systems thinking ability to reason about data flow, failure modes, cost, and operational behavior.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and React for building frontend applications.
- Experience breaking complex problems into incremental, pragmatic deliverables.
- Familiarity with software development processes using a user-centered approach.
- Experience using AI tools as part of an engineering workflow.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote-first, consensus-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end across the stack from API and data model design to user-facing workflows.
- Design and evolve systems, contributing to architectural decisions on scheduling, probe lifecycle, and telemetry ingestion.
- Build cross-product and AI-assisted workflows that connect Synthetic Monitoring to the Grafana Cloud platform.
- Ensure product operability at enterprise scale through robust governance and organization primitives.
- Break down complex, ambiguous problems into incremental deliverables.
- Ensure quality through rigorous testing, system observability, and documentation.
- Participate in the team's on-call rotation and maintain ownership of production services.
