Requirements
- Strong experience with Go or a path to it.
- Deep experience building and operating production backend systems in a systems language (e.g., Rust, Java, C++).
- Proficiency with TypeScript/React for frontend development.
- Operational mindset with experience running production services and managing on-call rotations.
- Systems thinking ability to reason about data flow, failure modes, cost, and operational behavior.
- Ability to work autonomously, design solutions, and deliver MVPs with short feedback loops.
- Understanding of user-centered software development processes.
- Comfortable working in a remote-first, collaborative environment.
- Clear communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Thoughtful use of AI tools in engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end across the stack, from API and data model design in Go to user-facing workflows in TypeScript/React.
- Design and evolve systems, including scheduling, probe lifecycle, telemetry ingestion, and API design.
- Build cross-product and AI-assisted workflows connecting to the Grafana Cloud platform.
- Make the product operable at enterprise scale, managing synthetic monitoring as code.
- Break down complex, ambiguous problems into incremental deliverables.
- Ensure quality through testing, observability of own systems, and documentation.
- Participate in the team's on-call rotation and take ownership of running services.
