Requirements

  • Strong experience with Go or deep experience building/operating production backend systems in systems languages (Rust, Java, C++).
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and React for full-stack development.
  • Operational mindset with experience owning production services and carrying a pager.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a systems thinker capable of reasoning about component interactions and failure modes.
  • Experience using a user-centered software development process to solve user needs.
  • Ability to work autonomously, design solutions, and build prototypes independently.
  • Experience using AI coding tools to accelerate workflows, with thoughtful consideration of design trade-offs.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English for collaborative, consensus-based environments.
  • Experience with Kubernetes in a production environment (bonus).
  • Experience designing or operating multi-tenant SaaS systems at scale (bonus).
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, or Sentry (bonus).

Responsibilities

  • Own features end-to-end across the full stack, including API design, data modeling, and frontend workflows.
  • Design and evolve core system components such as scheduling, probe lifecycles, telemetry ingestion, and APIs.
  • Build cross-product and AI-assisted workflows integrating Synthetic Monitoring with the wider Grafana Cloud platform.
  • Ensure the product is operable at enterprise scale by defining governance and management primitives.
  • Break down complex, ambiguous problems into incremental deliverables and iterate based on feedback.
  • Maintain high reliability through testing, observability, and documentation of systems.
  • Participate in the team's on-call rotation and take ownership of running services.
