Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a comparable qualification.
- 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience in an operational finance role.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, AR/AP processes, general ledger accounting, and financial closing procedures.
- Familiarity with German GAAP (HGB).
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., DATEV, Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems).
- Effective communication skills in German and English.
- Accurate, structured, and dependable work approach.
- Hands-on attitude with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Completed professional accounting certification (e.g., Bilanzbuchhalter/in, CPA) is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices, ensuring proper account coding, approval flow, and timely posting.
- Manage payment cycles, handle vendor inquiries, and perform supplier reconciliations.
- Issue customer invoices promptly and monitor incoming payments to follow up on overdue accounts.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and post all bank movements to the general ledger.
- Book accounting entries related to AP, AR, and banks to ensure timely journal entries for monthly close.
- Support month-end and year-end closing, including reconciliations, accruals, and cut-off postings.
- Assist with audit preparations and provide required supporting documentation.
- Support finance projects like system upgrades or process automation and contribute to workflow modernization.
