Requirements
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition principles.
- Experience reviewing customer contracts, renewals, amendments, and commercial agreements for revenue accounting implications.
- Experience supporting subscription and usage-based pricing models in a SaaS environment strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with financial systems such as NetSuite and Salesforce.
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ, billing platforms, or revenue automation tools is a plus.
- Experience supporting financial system implementations, process improvements, or automation initiatives preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex transactions, identify risks, and recommend practical solutions.
- Ability to analyze large datasets using Excel and other reporting tools.
- CPA certification or CPA candidacy preferred.
- Big Four or regional public accounting experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review customer contracts, order forms, amendments, renewals, and pricing structures to ensure accurate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606.
- Analyze complex and non-standard contract terms and collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine appropriate accounting conclusions.
- Support monthly revenue close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis, and management reporting.
- Perform detailed analysis of revenue, deferred revenue, and related financial statement accounts.
- Evaluate revenue implications of subscription, usage-based, and consumption-based pricing models.
- Prepare revenue compliance documentation and maintain audit-ready support materials.
- Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, Billing, Revenue Operations, Legal, FP&A, and other teams to improve Order-to-Cash processes and data accuracy.
- Support new product launches, pricing initiatives, acquisitions, and system enhancements by assessing revenue accounting impacts.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase automation.
- Assist with external audits, SOX readiness initiatives, and documentation requirements.
