Requirements
- Demonstrated senior-level experience designing, leading, and managing large-scale programs aimed at governance reform within international ocean conservation.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s degree highly preferred).
- Deep technical knowledge of global marine conservation issues, international ocean policies, and the political economy of marine governance.
- Substantive senior-level experience leading, mentoring, and scaling globally distributed, diverse, and high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to balance strategic planning with agile execution and experience managing results in a remote environment.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, project management, and delivering concurrent major organizational goals.
- Superlative diplomatic, negotiation, and advocacy skills to build partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and scientific bodies.
- Proven ability to anticipate, assess, and mitigate risk within complex, multifaceted environments.
- Experience working effectively at the highest levels, confidently representing the organization and influencing decision-makers.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of serving as a global spokesperson to various audiences.
- Demonstrated success in global fundraising and cultivating relationships with public, private, and government donors.
- Solid, hands-on budget management skills with the ability to align financial resources with program priorities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the leadership team to inform the development and delivery of GFW’s organizational strategy.
- Drive program innovation and oversee the establishment of program Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
- Lead the strategic and financial oversight of GFW’s global program, designing and executing large-scale, multi-year strategies.
- Partner with department heads to break down silos and ensure collaboration across programs, technology, science, and operations.
- Manage the departmental budget, partner with Finance, and ensure compliance with donor rules.
- Represent GFW at international conferences, roundtables, and senior bilateral meetings as a key spokesperson.
- Develop and implement partner engagement strategies to advance programmatic priorities.
