Requirements
- 8+ years in payments risk, fraud, or dispute operations within financial services or cryptocurrency.
- 3+ years leading a risk, fraud, or trust and safety function.
- Expertise in card-rail mechanics (authorization/decline flows) and chargeback/representment economics.
- Working knowledge of ACH, real-time rails, and crypto-side risk (wallet behavior, on-chain flows).
- Extensive hands-on administration of modern fraud prevention platforms (e.g., Sardine, SEON, Sift, Kount, Forter).
- Strong SQL proficiency and comfort in log and observability platforms.
- Proven experience building or governing AI-assisted operational workflows.
- Strong documentation, cross-training, and systems-building skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional processes and drive root-cause fixes.
- Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
Responsibilities
- Own the fraud risk strategy and the end-to-end defense architecture across the payments stack.
- Run the detection portfolio as a measured system using rules, thresholds, models, and velocity limits.
- Manage the chargeback and dispute program economics, including win-rate and net-recovery reporting.
- Lead fraud investigations and incident response with evidence-first discipline.
- Design and govern AI-native risk operations, including agentic workflows for triage and monitoring.
- Hire, coach, and grow risk analysts and scientists.
- Drive root-cause fixes across the payment flow and customer journey by partnering with compliance, product, and engineering teams.
- Manage the vendor and partner ecosystem, including commercial relationships and SLAs.
