Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or equivalent experience in pharmaceutical agencies, healthcare communications, or related fields.
  • Advanced degree in life sciences, such as PharmD or PhD, preferred.
  • 9+ years of experience in medical communications, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or related industries.
  • Proven experience developing managed markets promotional content and healthcare communication strategies.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturer strategies, payer environments, and healthcare business models.
  • Expertise in evaluating and summarizing scientific literature, healthcare data, and business insights for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to translate complex clinical concepts into clear, accessible, and impactful communications.
  • Strong knowledge of American Medical Association (AMA) style guidelines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and scientific research platforms such as PubMed and Google Scholar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical thinking, organization, prioritization, and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines, complex stakeholder relationships, and high-impact initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
  • Familiarity with managed care organizations, healthcare delivery systems, health reform, HMOs, MCOs, or PBMs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical content development across multiple major client accounts, ensuring quality standards, strategic alignment, and timely delivery.
  • Manage a portfolio of assigned accounts while balancing priorities, resources, and business objectives across various projects.
  • Serve as a medical and strategic lead for brand planning, tactical development, client presentations, and new business opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain account-specific clinical services processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Drive key departmental initiatives including onboarding programs, recruitment efforts, innovation projects, and workflow improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve challenges, manage expectations, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Allocate resources across accounts and workstreams while ensuring operational efficiency and strong client outcomes.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop clinical services team members through feedback, performance guidance, and career development planning.
  • Directly and indirectly supervise a team of clinical professionals, including senior medical leadership roles.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, respect, and client-focused excellence.
