Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 15+ years of related consulting experience.
- Extensive experience managing technical teams and complex energy permitting projects.
- Demonstrated experience permitting solar, wind, battery energy storage, and transmission projects.
- Strong background with NEPA planning and environmental review processes.
- Experience working with regulatory and land management agencies, including BLM, USBR, USACE, USFWS, and USFS.
- Demonstrated project experience within Arizona.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead tasks associated with energy projects, including proposal development, cost estimating, project execution, budget management, forecasting, and client satisfaction.
- Direct and oversee energy facility siting, routing, permitting, environmental field surveys, resource analysis, agency coordination, public outreach, and project tracking activities.
- Prepare and manage conditional use permits, land use permits, right-of-way applications, and other jurisdictional permitting efforts.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies and utility boards.
- Represent clients before federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, land management agencies, planning commissions, councils, and utility boards.
- Provide project management, team leadership, and mentoring of junior staff.
