Requirements
- Extensive experience working within complex product environments, ideally B2B or API-driven.
- Demonstrated ability to design products with invisible complexity.
- Strong proficiency in research methods including rapid prototyping, user testing, and data analysis.
- Deep understanding of how data models constrain interface design.
- Advanced command of craft fundamentals including typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy.
- Hands-on experience with modern builder tools like Cursor or Claude Code for functional prototyping.
- Outcomes-oriented mindset with the ability to triage uncertainty when research is not feasible.
- Experience promoting design systems and patterns to primitives.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams to integrate design into the product development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Own design quality for the Kota Embed platform in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment.
- Promote recurring interaction patterns into reusable design-system components.
- Define problems, assumptions, and success criteria before designing solutions.
- Facilitate team ceremonies including standups, retros, and backlog grooming.
- Engage stakeholders and developers in usability sessions to build shared team context.
- Perform research at sprint cadence including user tests, prototype testing, and data log analysis.
