Requirements

  • 1-2 years of Pharmacy and/or Medical Claims billing and coding work experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience with Prior Authorization and Appeal submissions.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Ability to work with high-volume production teams with an emphasis on quality.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service and patient support service experience preferred.
  • Clear knowledge of Medicare (A, B, C, D), Medicaid, and commercial payer policies and guidelines.
  • Understanding of Medical, Supplemental, and pharmacy insurance benefit practices.
  • Ability to maintain a dedicated, quiet, private, distraction-free remote environment.
  • Must meet internet speed requirements: 15Mbps download, 5Mbps upload, max 30ms ping, hardwired connection.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact on inbound calls to determine needs and handle inquiries accordingly.
  • Create and complete accurate enrollment applications with a sense of urgency.
  • Conduct outbound correspondence to support patient and program needs.
  • Resolve patient questions regarding the status of their assistance requests.
  • Update internal and external pharmacy treatment plan statuses.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed notations for every interaction.
  • Assess patient financial ability to afford therapy and provide guidance to appropriate financial assistance programs.
  • Follow through on all benefit investigation rejections, including Prior Authorizations and Appeals.
  • Handle all escalations based on region and ensure proper communication of resolution.
  • Search insurance options and explain various programs to help patients select the best coverage.
