Job Details

Solid experience with a systems language (Go preferred; Rust, C, C++, Python, or Java also accepted).
Experience building and operating distributed systems and multi-tenant data services in production.
Strong software craftsmanship with a focus on writing clean, robust, and maintainable code.
Operational mindset with experience in SRE-style work, infrastructure as code, and on-call reliability.
Strong product sense and ability to translate fuzzy problems into manageable deliverables.
Pragmatic approach to breaking complex problems into short feedback loops.
Clear communication skills with the ability to work in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
Curiosity and courage to challenge the status quo and ask hard questions.
Experience with profiling and performance engineering (flamegraphs, pprof, perf) is a bonus.
Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, large-scale observability, or Kubernetes SaaS infrastructure is a bonus.

Lead projects from concept to rollout including design, delivery, operations, and customer follow-up.
Design, build, and operate core components of a distributed database including ingestion, storage, and query.
Translate customer pain points into manageable deliverables and shape the roadmap.
Drive operational excellence by owning outcomes against concrete SLOs and unit cost targets.
Partner with internal observability and database squads to integrate profiles across the platform.
Participate in on-call (EMEA rotation) and contribute to post-incident learning.
Engage the community, review external contributions, and steer the Pyroscope open-source project.
