Requirements
- Solid experience with a systems language such as Go, Rust, C, C++, Python, or Java.
- Experience building and operating distributed cloud services in production.
- Proven experience with multi-tenant data systems at scale.
- Strong product sense with the ability to engage customers and handle ambiguity.
- Demonstrated software craftsmanship with a focus on clean, robust, and performant code.
- Experience with operational tasks such as SRE workflows, on-call support, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a remote-first, asynchronous environment.
- Pragmatic approach to problem-solving and rapid iteration.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects from concept to rollout including design, delivery, operations, and customer follow-up.
- Design, build, and operate core components of a distributed database, including ingestion, storage, and query functions.
- Act as the product owner by translating customer pain points into actionable roadmap items.
- Drive operational excellence by meeting SLOs and unit cost targets and reducing toil.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate Pyroscope across the Grafana stack.
- Support teammates through design reviews, code reviews, and pair programming.
- Participate in the EMEA on-call rotation for built services.
- Contribute to and steer the open-source Pyroscope project.
