Requirements
- 3+ years of healthcare compliance experience with direct exposure to Medicare, Medicaid, CMS, OIG, HIPAA, and FWA frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment (startup or high-growth experience preferred).
- Deep working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security rules and their practical application to technology products.
- Proven experience building or materially improving compliance programs.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulatory requirements in plain language.
- Ability to make crisp risk/benefit recommendations to business leaders.
- Experience supporting the development of processes, procedures, and workflows for business scaling.
- Strong collaboration skills with clinical, operations, finance, and leadership teams.
- Mission-driven and passionate about improving outcomes for underserved communities.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day compliance with Medicare and Medicaid program requirements, including federal CMS rules and state-specific Medicaid regulations.
- Lead HIPAA Privacy and Security compliance, including BAA management and workforce training.
- Partner with engineering and product teams to evaluate data practices and vendor integrations for privacy and security risk.
- Build and maintain a compliance risk register, triaging issues by severity and likelihood.
- Create scalable, lightweight compliance processes that enable sustainable business scaling.
- Respond to audits, compliance reviews, and requests from federal and state regulators and health plans.
- Collaborate with legal, clinical, operations, and people teams on regulatory strategy and internal compliance policies.
