Requirements

  • Terminal medical degree (MD or DO).
  • Successful completion of USMLE Step 1 and 2 exams.
  • Board certification in a US-approved medical or surgical specialty or completion of at least two years of ACGME-accredited residency training.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and copy-editing skills with close attention to detail.
  • Available to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week of asynchronous work.
  • Commitment to the organizational mission of transforming medical education.
  • Prior medical question writing experience is a plus.
  • Experience in formal medical education is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review and revise existing and newly drafted questions and topic summaries.
  • Ensure content adheres to educational value, readability, and inclusive language standards.
  • Verify that assessment items are accurate, clinically realistic, and scoped for Step 1 and Step 2 exams.
  • Work with the medical illustration team to create or collect relevant medical images and figures.
  • Attend team meetings and regular check-ins with the writing team.
  • Identify and complete other tasks as needed.
