Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in senior research leadership and managing strategic M&E agendas.
  • Deep understanding of impact measurement, experimental design, and large-scale data systems.
  • Ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a non-hierarchical, fast-moving environment.
  • Proven track record in translating academic research into programmatic design and strategy.
  • Strong communication skills for representing research agendas to academic, donor, and media audiences.
  • Experience managing complex research portfolios and academic partnerships.
  • Analytical expertise in cost-effectiveness modeling and ROI frameworks.
  • Ability to manage laterally and upward with senior leadership to resolve competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the theory of change across large lump sum, district transformation, and cash plus coaching products.
  • Define and drive org-wide prioritization of impact learning questions across Product, Partnerships, and Country Programs.
  • Build large-scale, strategic M&E infrastructure and systems to track performance and impact in near-real time.
  • Provide senior technical leadership on formal research and cultivate academic partnerships.
  • Synthesize evidence to support product design decisions including transfer size, targeting, and 'plus' components.
  • Lead and mentor a small, highly leveraged research team.
  • Represent GiveDirectly's research and M&E agenda to external stakeholders, donors, and the media.
