Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Typically 3–5 years of workers' compensation claims experience, with Defense Base Act (DBA) experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of claims administration processes, insurance reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Experience working with third-party administrators, claims adjusters, and insurance partners.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, risk management software, or other claims management platforms is preferred.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to changing processes and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administration and management of Defense Base Act (DBA) and maritime injury and illness claims, ensuring timely reporting to third-party administrators and regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate closely with claims leadership, occupational health teams, HR, legal departments, and insurance partners to coordinate claims activities and case management strategies.
  • Participate in claims investigations and assist in developing action plans for complex cases.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute claim-related documentation, including reports, correspondence, forms, and regulatory submissions.
  • Establish and maintain claims records within claims management systems, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
  • Review claim submissions, verify information, and determine appropriate policy coverage related to reported incidents.
  • Process incoming communications and provide administrative support through filing, documentation management, and record maintenance.
  • Contribute to organizational injury management programs and support continuous improvement initiatives related to claims administration.
