Requirements
- 5+ years in engineering leadership, including direct people management and experience as a technical or team lead.
- Track record of building or leading teams working on data-intensive, high-throughput distributed systems.
- Experience using agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode) with the ability to validate and redirect output.
- Strong technical judgment regarding decision-making and trade-offs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide direct feedback and explain complex trade-offs.
- High agency and comfort working in a fast-moving, early-stage startup environment.
- Experience at a startup is highly preferred.
- Background in observability, real-time monitoring infrastructure, or AI infrastructure (e.g., inference pipelines, embeddings, agent orchestration) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Rust and Python is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical execution across the endpoint agent, backend services, inference pipelines, infrastructure, and frontend.
- Translate priorities and technical direction into clear plans, milestones, and owners.
- Turn architecture and design decisions into implementation plans and help the team make strong technical decisions.
- Manage, mentor, and develop engineers through regular feedback, coaching, and performance management.
- Run effective cadences for planning, progress reviews, and retrospectives.
- Hold the team accountable for commitments, quality, and delivery, addressing performance issues early.
- Manage capacity, sequencing, dependencies, and remove blockers.
- Participate in hiring and lead the onboarding of new engineers.
